We had the good fortune of connecting with Ciani Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ciani, what’s your definition for success?
I define success by the amount of work you are putting into your passion. Nothing happens over night… self discipline can help you stay focused and constant With your goals,no matter the distance you can surely succeed in anything you put your mind too.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets me apart from others is my ethnicity, I am a mix between Mexican native American and a Puertorican. I am A PROUD Puerto Rican woman who looks very different from others in my culture and I embrace every bit of who I am.
I got to where I am today by staying consistent and following my Model Instincts! I always did my best to achieve my goals and turn away from people I did not feel safe with,anytime I felt like the job could be a Scam I turned it down,I never let my self get caught up in the words people say even though alot of the jobs were tempting I never put my trust in someone with out getting to know them first.
Another lesson I learned was that if the people you love do not support your business or brand don’t hesitate to cut off the toxicity in your life,they don’t see the value in you or your work until you become a dollar sign and that is not ok. so before you become a success make sure you are ready to surround yourself with the Best kind of people supporting you from beginning to end.
What I want people to know about my story is that I have pushed through every obstacle that has landed in my way, alot of people did not support me and still don’t want to see me succeed but i am still working hard and thriving until I reach my goals, I’m here to show ANYONE and EVERYONE you can be successful no matter what goes on in your life as long as you stay focused on YOU.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you or my friends were to ever come out and visit my city I would take you to cobra bar for drinks and games! They have old school arcade games you can play until closing time. Next qe would go to a Mexican reaturant for some Berria tacos from my favorite Mexican resturant! Finally we would go visit my cousins and uncles for some extra laughs and head down to Mexico to finish the weekend off at Puerto Penasco with some drinks and food by the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank all of the people who did not believe in me or who doubted me from the beginning, if they did not put me down and lower my confidence I wouldn’t have had the courage to build my self up and prove them wrong! With out them I wouldn’t have the drive I do now, don’t let people take you away from following your dreams,they may not have had the same drive as you do but that doesn’t mean you have to give up your happiness or passions for them.
