We had the good fortune of connecting with CuhDeeJah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CuhDeeJah, how do you think about risk?
Life is about choices. Whether it be good or bad, every step in life is a choice. With choices we have to take risk. If you’re unwilling to take certain risk it may just cost your life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am CuhDeeJah. I like to identify as that. I’m very open and creative. I’ve always had a passion for music but I grew a passion becoming an artist. Besides doing music, I also act and host. I’m most proud of my versatility. I’m Sierra Leonean, West African. I love creating and rapping over my west coast sounds but I also enjoy diving into my afrobeat side. Without my support system (family, friends, fans) I wouldn’t be where I am now. The process was definitely not easy and it’s still not easy. Everyday is a different battle. Some days more intense than others but overall it makes it worth wild seeing all the positive impressions I make. I grew up in a pretty positive environment. Growing up in an African household it was always instilled in me that I had to work for everything I wanted. I’m grateful for that because those values help me carry on with the lifestyle I live today. I want everyone to know and understand that’s it very important to move at your own pace & love yourself. Social media is not a real place. If you are in competition with social media you’ll never win. Stay focused on your goals and in tune with yourself (and the things/people who love you). Nothing else really matters.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Assuming there’s no bookings and just all free time.
Monday: Spa day and cook dinner
Tuesday: maybe a taco Tuesday karaoke vibes
Wednesday: cook & maybe hookah and movie night
Thursday: content day/photos vibes studio night
Friday: get dressed maybe club
Saturday: maybe another club or event
Sunday: family day chill hang out with the kids and family

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my dad, Big Ruben! He believed in me, invested in me, and instilled in me that I am everything that I aspire to be. Shoutout to Sean 2 Miles. My cousin who introduced me to the music industry. If I never came in contact with him, I probably would have never been doing music. Shoutout to JM! Joe Moses was very influential in my music career. He was apart of my growing process, he was there for me when I had writers block, when I had mental breakdowns about music, and he continues to push me to be better. For that I will forever be grateful. Shoutout to my entire family, friends, and fans who love me so much, wouldn’t know where to start without them.
