Meet Cyndi Hardy | Photographer, Painter and Digital Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cyndi Hardy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cyndi, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think most business owners are risk takers or need to be willing to take risks sometimes. Taking risks can give you the opportunity to propel forward in your life or business if things go well or failures from risk give you a chance to learn from what doesn’t work. If you start thinking of your failures as learning mistakes instead of complete disasters, then risk taking becomes less scary. Not taking risks makes us become more stagnant and becoming more stagnant is the death of a business. Ultimately, taking risks is how we learn, grow and live.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I graduated Cum Laude from Brooks Institute of Photography, specializing in commercial photography. After starting school, I got a job working for a wedding photographer and fell in love. The rest, as they say, is history, over two decades of photography later, I’m still madly in love with my job.
My work is deeply influenced by nature, bold and vibrant colors, and the earth. I bring that into every photo shoot, painting, and art piece that I create. The clients that hire me feel a connection to the earth, too, whether they love the ocean, the desert, or the mountains.
I love when a photo tells a story. I can’t think of anything more powerful than looking at an image and understanding immediately what is going on and also understanding immediately that there is more to the story that makes you curious about the people or subject.
It’s my goal to create beautiful, meaningful art for you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Arizona is such an amazing place to explore, I would start by taking them up north (Sedona, Prescott, Flagstaff), going on a few hikes, checking out the red rocks, exploring the historical areas of the towns, and of course some wine tasting! In the Phoenix area, we would go hiking and check out a few scenic places. We would hit up Lost Dutchman State Park, some views along the Salt River, Papago Park, Camelback Mountain and Spur Cross Trailhead. We would definitely grab some coffee at Press Coffee and 32 Shea. For restaurants, we would need to hit up a small taqueria to get some authentic Arizona Mexican food, The Tamale Store, Hopdoddy, The Coronado, and Cornish Pasty.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people to thank for being there for me through my journey of life! Here are a few people that have really helped shape my career and life. My mum was my biggest supporter through it all, she would even support my most crazy of ideas. Jamie, Sara, and Ryan are my three closest friends and they always encourage me to go for it or rein me back if it’s too crazy of an idea. 🙂 The group of business owners that I share an office space with has been an amazing support as well, there is nothing better than having other business owners to bounce ideas off of. Last and certainly not least, my dog Valentino. He provides me with numerous cuddles throughout the day. 🙂
