We had the good fortune of connecting with Dana Davidson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The first thing that went through my head was “What the hell am I doing?” Then “I have no idea where to start first” and eventually came to the thought “I am divinely guided, I will be perfectly fine”

There were many times in between that first thought and when I finally created by website, and started working on clients, that I had questioned myself and my path. But I was always given signs that I was moving in the right direction.

I knew that I was/am where I am supposed to be, and that I am the ONLY one that is going to make this happen.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Towards the end of 2019 I finished my Reiki Master Teacher certification and KNEW this is what I am supposed to be doing. At the start of 2020 Covid hit. I thought for sure that I would not be able to work my full time office job and build my Reiki business at the same time. But I did! It was going slower than I had hoped, but eventually I felt slow and steady was exactly what was needed for me to keep going. It gave me time to acclimate to my new life and new direction I was heading. My business is called Spirit Led because my whole life I have been guided by Spirit, MY Spirit as well as those guiding me from the other side. I have learned that listening to my Spirit, my inner guidance and compass has been what has allowed me to survive my childhood, to be the kind of mother I had wanted growing up and to not let anything/anyone keep me from reaching my goals. Now, as a Reiki practitioner and teacher I get to help empower others to heal themselves, to heal others, and to listen to THEIR inner voice and guidance. It is the best feeling!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I like to try new foods and new places, so I would make a list of all the places I have been wanting to try out and all the museums and off the path places. It’s fun to explore your own town with others and be in their excitement and curiosity as well. I do like to travel up North to Sedona and Jerome, to wander around. And one go to place I like to take anyone visiting me, is to my friend Michael’s crystal shop (Stone Zone), I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like crystals, and we tend to get lost in there, in a good way!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest supporters in starting my business have been my children. At the same time I was creating my business I was also going through other BIG changes in my life and without the love and encouragement of my children, I don’t know that I would have persevered, let alone thrive as I have.
