Meet Dawn McCrossen | Barber, Business Owner, and Barber Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dawn McCrossen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dawn, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The idea of our business was not based on just opening another place to get your hair cut. Those places are on every corner. My vision was to build relationships and somehow positively impact the people that walk through our doors, no matter how big or small it may be. From giving a haircut to someone who can’t afford to pay so that they can go to a job interview, to sponsoring the local softball team, to assisting the local nonprofit organization with their mission to give back, Revival’s name came honestly.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
It’s easy to become complacent in business and fall short of the goals that you had for both yourself and the brand. After all, we are all human. Consistently bringing my vision back to God has kept both my own personal growth and the business growth on the right track. We aren’t done with what we are bringing to the community. We are working on an exciting project that we can’t wait to announce as it gets a little closer, and it’s has been nothing short of hard work consisting of long days and nights. This mission is personal!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love all of the small businesses on the Northshore that are owned by great people that I’ve gotten to know. Bosco’s Italian Cafe, Cafe Lynn, Dillary and Son’s Bagelry and The White House Coffee are just a few of my absolute favorite places on the Northshore. It’s not just the food and drinks that are great at those places, it’s the amazing folks behind the places that make me want to keep going back.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God is behind every move that I make at Revival. He has changed my life and my vision in ways that I couldn’t even have imagined was possible. The way that our business is growing feels surreal, and there is definitely a super natural hand on it.
