We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Denise, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I am a risk taker, I feel in order to become successful you have to take risks. I left a career after 10 years to start my own business and it has been the most fulfilling risk and decision I have ever made.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my cleaning company in 2021. It was very difficult in the beginning because I didn’t have the typical support or guidance to start. I did a lot of research, seeking mentors to be able to accomplish weekly and monthly goals. Once the community found out I started my own cleaning business I got very busy very fast. I am highly respected and well known in this community and surrounding areas. The lessons I have learned is I am not everyone’s cup of tea and that is ok. I learned not to take things personal. One of the most exciting feelings is knowing that me and my company help people keep their homes clean. I have quite a few clients who physically need my help so it is such a rewarding feeling that I can help others. Also having my staff, they work so hard so I do everything I can to show my appreciate and gratitude either by monthly bonuses, taking them out to lunch or giving them gift cards and making sure the environment is a positive one. We go above and beyond for all of our clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were to visit I would take her to Bearizona here in my small town. It is a great place to spend the whole day looking at the animals, shopping and they even have an amazing restaurant and bar!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The biggest encouragement I got was from my daughter, previous co-workers and family who encouraged me to start my own business. I have listened to quite a few audio books and have listened to so many amazing mentors including but not limited to Gary Vaynerchuk, my previous boss, Robert Kiyosaki and my favorite book thus far has to be Homeless to Billionaire by Andres Pira.
