We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree Horner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desiree, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ultimately, I wanted to help people while also putting to use the knowledge I have gained from school as well as my own personal experience. I would often look for grants to help fund opportunities within the community and found that there are a ton of different companies and agencies that you can get funded from. I also realized that starting your own business wasn’t as hard as it seems and with so many people having such great ideas, why not help them make those dreams a reality?

What should our readers know about your business?
I created my business, Desiree D, Enterprise because I wanted to not only build a business but build an empire that I could be proud of. I really took the time to study business not just in school but to learn about business from companies that I worked in. Being able to see what did and did not work as well as some common barriers that they face helped me be able to get ahead of those issues so that I can not run into them myself. It was probably one of the hardest things that I did because I would often get discouraged (and sometimes, still do) when my clientele was not at a certain number or when I had more projects than I realized. In the end, I have always made sure to give 100% to every company, entity or individual that I am serving.

My brand, my company is unlike any other. I am going to give you the personalized attention to make sure that you meet your goals. I don’t take on a project that I do not 100% believe in.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would go to Seasons 52 for a nice brunch and then to go explore Sedona. I would explore downtown Phoenix nightlife as well as their is so much to see with the art and culture. Of course, we would have to go to an escape room to have a great challenge. Then to close out the night we would have to go to Steak 44 for an amazing dinner.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without God, my children and my best friend/fiancée consistently pushing me, I would not be where I am now. I have always leaned on my faith and if I had not been given the vision to do all that I do, I wouldn’t have moved forward. My children continue to keep me motivated as I always want to give them the best and make sure they get to act on every opportunity that comes their way. I call my fiancée my best friend because that is how he started. Even when I felt like giving up, he consistently pushed me to keep going and always made sure that I knew my worth when it came to what it is that I bring to the table.
