Meet Dilia Diaz | Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dilia Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dilia, how do you think about risk?
One of my life motto’s is “Nothing Ever worth having; is Easy” and I think risk is tool of success as an entrepreneur/ business owner. It allows you to get more opportunities and learn from your mistakes. It’s played a huge roll in my career, I moved across the country, alone in order purse my Makeup Career & I’m already seeing the rewards !

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve have been doing Makeup professionally for 5 years now. What’ started out as a way to hind my acne & insecurities, became an outlet that turned into my passion. I love making people feel beautiful & confident, Makeup allows me to do that and so much more. In the beginning it was pretty hard, I did a lot of free stuff & Promoting myself was very time consuming, but I finally made a name for myself & was able to work with so many different artists, Organizations like Midwest Fashion Week and the Circle the Lights in Indianapolis, photographer, etc.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show him a good time I would definitely take them hiking, Piestewa peak or South Mountain definitely take them to Sedona, best shopping and food!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve always said my dad is my first supporter of my makeup journey. He bought me my first Real Makeup Kits at a very young age, despite my mothers disapproval, and he always allowed me to express myself
