We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Outlet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success is persistence. Never giving up. Continuing to wake up everyday and keep pushing no matter the circumstances. We’ve been through many ups and downs over the years, but the drive to keep going no matter what is what keeps us here.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. 2HotRadio is a digital radio station and marketing platform for artists and entrepreneurs. What sets us apart is that we’re dedicated to working with beginners. Many artists who work with us have never been to a studio or performed on a stage. Many entrepreneurs have not even launched their business yet; they may just have an idea. We help them literally from the ground up.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
Again it’s all about persistence. It was not easy at all. Persistence was the only way to overcome the challenges. There were plenty of times where we could’ve given up, but we continued to push through.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
The biggest lesson learned is to treat an entrepreneurial opportunity like a job in the area of accountability. When you have a job, your boss is accountable for your actions (showing up on time, getting your work done, hitting your metrics, etc.) As an entrepreneur, you are the only one accountable. So you have to be the boss of yourself and not allow yourself to slack off.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
At 2HotRadio we have an open door policy. We believe that everyone should have an opportunity to prove themselves. We do not discriminate or deny ANYONE of that opportunity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Super Bowl Weekend will be our first time visiting Phoenix. However, our advice as would be to speak to the locals. From the minute we touch down, we’ll be talking to people to learn more about the area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my family as a whole. From my wife and kids to my parents, to my brother and sister, to my aunts, uncles, and cousins. There are many who have played a part in my success.
