Meet Dominique Armstrong | Owner of Juci Roots: Plant Based Hair & Skin Care

We had the good fortune of connecting with Juci Roots and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Results. That is the most important thing that Juci Roots could do for a customer. We want you to watch your damaged, dry hair regain its vitality and strength. We want you to see those wrinkles disappear with each use. See those itchy, dry, eczema patches become soft, supple smooth skin. Juci Roots wants our customers to see their natural beauty emerge, and appreciate their body for what it could do for them, which is heal itself using the right mix of natural ingredients. If we can do that, our mission is accomplished, and we believe we will have long term success as a business and brand.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My husband and I are actually simple regular people. Going into the beauty industry was something that happened quite by accident. When I was losing my hair, Darnell decided to take a risk and make something to help me. We had to educate ourselves and do extensive research to be able to make products that were natural and effective. When something didn’t work, we just kept on trying. We learned that if you don’t give up, and give yourself grace, you can find the answers that you’re looking for. We want the world to know that Juci Roots was truly a journey about self love on all levels. Not giving up is a form of faith in yourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As homebodies, Darnell and I don’t do much. However, if we did, anything with nature would be the answer. A trip to Big Bear to see the mountains and trees, Laguna Beach to see the clear blue water, Palm Springs to get a taste of the desert. Anything with nature is our place to be!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to every person who has given Juci Roots a chance. We truly appreciate you listening to our story, and putting your faith in our products. We love listening to your success stories, and also letting us know where we need to improve. Your feedback is crucial, and we hear you!
