We had the good fortune of connecting with Eduardo Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eduardo, what makes you happy? Why?
What makes me happy is a combination of two things, having found the thing I am passionate about in life and turning that into a business and having my family fully support my dream and pushing me to go for it and give it my all.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are DriverOne Imports, our name was inspired from the famous arcade game Initial D when you got to choose if you were player one or driver one. Our goal is to import vehicles from all different countries and make it easy and convenient for anyone to get the experience of owning one. We get our vehicles serviced to make sure they are ready to hit the road and in the appropriate condition to transform the vehicle according to your vision. Our cars as of right now are being imported directly from Japan. We aim to become Arizona’s number one JDM importer dealership. Not only will we soon be having our showcase where our customers can come to see our inventory in person, but we also will be offering our services to import specific cars for our customers. Our passion is cars, and we want to share that passion with those enthusiast that do not know how to get a imported car, we hope to make that experience easy for them without having to deal with all the trouble and logistics of getting a car from japan to Phoenix, AZ. All of our cars are 25years or older but are arriving in amazing condition with low miles, most cars that we have gotten have had an average of 75,000 original miles. Getting to where we are now has not been easy, there was a lot of challenges we have had to overcome, but we took that challenge so that our customers didn’t have to do that hard work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Phoenix, AZ seems like its a place that doesn’t have much to do but there is actually so much to do here to have a great time. If I had to give people ideas of what they could do I wouldn’t even know where to begin, if they’re sports fans then I would highly recommend to go see our sports teams, we have great arenas and that is always a great time. we have such an awesome aquarium in Scottsdale I would recommend to take the family, our Zoos are a great place to take the family as well. If you’re looking for a place to have fun then I recommend Top Golf, a great place to play golf, get food and have a few drinks. Then come places to go visit depending on the time of the year, the grand canyon is always a great day trip, or if you’re coming during winter you can drive up to Flagstaff to go play in the snow, Sedona is also a beautiful place to go explore. Phoenix has so much to do to have an great experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely have to give credit to my older brother, it was because of him that really made me make the choice to fully pursue my dreams and turn it into a business. 5 years ago he left his secure job to go full time on his own and created an HVAC business, watching him make that leap of faith in his skill and passion to become his own boss was very inspirational to me. He showed me that with long hours, hard work, and the drive to always keep learning, you truly can make it on your own. He’s been in business here in Phoenix, AZ for 5 years, with now 7 employees and showing me that anyone can make the american dream a reality.
