We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Diane Burg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily Diane, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Instead of giving up, I get resourceful. When you are focused on your mission and purpose, you can always figure out a way to keep going…sometimes the “how” is unclear, but if your vision is, you will find a way. I’ve had too many obstacles, challenges, and mistakes in business to count. Still, even when it seems like I am stuck or insurmountable, I’ve found that as long as I stay focused on helping others, a new path, idea, or opportunity presents itself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets Emme Diane apart is that we believe that skincare transcends beyond creams and serums. It isn’t just about the products, but it’s about educating people who struggle with their skin and giving them all the tools they need to achieve their skin goals. Products are truly only half the battle when it comes to skincare, which is why we offer free guidance and support through our online consultations and check-ins. We deliver real results because we are with our clients every step of the way on their skin journey.

My personal skin struggles have been instrumental in helping the business get to where it is today. Having adult acne is a struggle, but it has been a huge asset in business as I am my own litmus test/guinea pig…and I have to walk my talk to stay clear, which helps me guide others on their clear skin journey.

The passion to help as many people as I can is the catalyst that has grown my business to a national/international level…it all started over a decade ago when a client’s cousin who lived in the Midwest asked for help with her skin. I wasn’t certain if I could truly help since she was a thousand miles away, but we had a consultation via email and on the phone, where I curated a skincare routine and offered guidance on what acne triggers to avoid. I think I was as amazed as she was that we successfully cleared her skin…and this launched my online consultation process, where I have helped tens of thousands of clients with their skin. So this growth in my business happened organically and grew like wildfire from word of mouth that my method and products actually work.

Skincare is incredibly competitive…even more so in the last 5 years. It’s hard not to compare what you are doing to other skincare companies. So one of the biggest lessons I have learned is that there is a time to put your blinders on, not pay attention to what others are doing, and focus even more on your core values and your mission. When I get “squirrely” in the comparison game, I refocus and ask myself, “How can I add more value and help my clients even more than any other company?”.

What I would love for the world to know about Emme Diane is this…we focus on authenticity and real results, not trends or gimmicky marketing. And we love our clients so much that we are constantly offering more and more free resources to help guide you on your skincare journey…you are never alone on your path to clear skin.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love living here – there are endless things to share with visitors, but I would start with a day of pampering at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess! There’s something special about lounging by the pool, chatting, laughing and enjoying the Arizona sun (with plenty of sunscreen, of course!). Once we’re recharged, we’d then adventure through the red rocks of Sedona – something I think everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime! For a more relaxed day filled with inspiration and discovery, I’d definitely recommend stopping by the Celebration of Fine Art gallery at Hayden and the 101 and admiring the amazing works there. And of course, Scottsdale has so much amazing food, so stopping at some of my favorite places like Buck and Rider would be a must!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I first started my business, I had amazing mentors who taught me everything I know about adult acne and how to treat it successfully. Although I had been an esthetician for over a decade, these mentors changed everything for me because what I learned from them was completely different from what I learned in school or from dermatologists and other skin experts. I owe much of my success to their generosity in teaching and guiding me.

Also, my team as I could not have done this on my own…over the years, I’ve had incredible employees who shared my passion and been the backbone of the business.
