We had the good fortune of connecting with eric cadette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi eric, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Outside of myself is always a desire to be connected to other things and people. Without possession, I’d desire to hold special places in my life for the things that bring me peace and joy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art, like most artist or creative people, everything comes from internal feelings and experiences. The reason why I have different outlets to create is because each one has different depths to what I have to say. Writing gives me the opportunity to explain scenarios in a eloquent storytelling manner. Fashion allows me to create moods and shapes. And illustration helps me evoke emotions that are hard to explain.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Best places to visit is the mountains. I’d take my friend to places of peace and serenity during the morning. We’d eat breakfast at a local spot. Maybe have coffee in between. We’d go to museums, maybe watch a old film.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Finding a queer space in Phoenix seemed inevitable because the city seems so small, but the more I aged, I realized the spaces weren’t happening anymore. My dear friend started an organization for queer & non-binary people to feel safe and supported where they provide a boost for queer artist and teachers. Without Cisco, I don’t know if I would have felt the courage to host a fruity poetry night. Also, having the support of business like Afternoons Studio to sponsor the event and allow us to utilize their amazing space.
