We had the good fortune of connecting with FranChella La’Fon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi FranChella, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process when coming up with Haus Of La’Fon Beauty Vault. Was to think of all things beauty. Of course we all want to work for ourselves at some point, but do we really have the motivation to stick to it? I didn’t just start my business because I knew it would make funds or because it was the “popular” thing to do. It was more me having a passion for something and really stepping out on faith to see it through. Prayer, affirmation, and motivation. Three key steps to success.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started in the beauty industry at 16 years old my grandmother used to tell me I have growing hands. I never understood what she meant but she was simply saying my hands were a gift that keeps on growing. I would master every style just by looking at it one time, or watching someone else do it and boom I got it. I’m very hands on in all my work. It’s a must. After graduating cosmetology school I worked in a few salons. And let me just say signing contracts and going off of others rules was a big NO for me. There was always conflicts of interest and just not professional m. So I worked hard out of my kitchen for years all while maintaining a 9-5 job. “It was the passion for me” I was determined. I was lazy at times but still determined. After many many years of supportive clients, consistent clients, new cities, and even clients going on a limb and giving me a chance I was able to open my own salon suite right here in Phoenix AZ. I advanced my career, learned new techniques even added new services to my website. The beauty industry is a very big industry and it continues to grow. Haus of La’Fon Beauty Vault is not only a brand it’s gonna be a worldwide name one day I’ve even published a book titled “La Short a Void to be fulfilled” listed on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles. I also teach teach trainings and give out lifetime mentorships. Visit www.hausoflafon.com
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite things to do so far here in Phoenix is horse back riding through the mountains, eating at Ms Whites soul food restaurant, shooing in Scottsdale’s, and occasional walks through Kiawanis park in Tempe. I’m just a simple girl that loves simple things.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a big s/o to my other half especially for all the support, encouragement and love each and everyday! My beautiful beautiful clients I service everyday you guys are the core to my energy and I would not have come this far without your continued faith in me allowing me to enhance your already beautiful faces even from my home at one point. In the small extra room. I wouldn’t be successful without you. Thank you to everyone who helped in anyway possible when I’ve had questions or doubts. S/o to my future clients come on and meet me in the vault! That’s Haus of La’Fon Beauty Vault. And s/o to all new upcoming lash Artist, business owners etc. Don’t give up push and keep pushing, speak it into existence and the universe shall deliver. Thank you
