We had the good fortune of connecting with Gianni Stafford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gianni, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
A quote that has always stuck with me is “When does a man die? Is it when he’s shot in the heart with a pistol? No. When he’s stricken with a deadly disease? No. When he eats soup made from a poisonous mushroom? No! It’s when he is forgotten!” – Dr. Hiriluk. Its a powerful quote about the nature of memory and legacy. It underscores the importance of how we live our lives and the impact we have on others. This focus on legacy and being remembered motivates me to live meaningfully and leave a positive mark on the world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Pushing the boundaries of creativity and genre, my music takes listeners on a journey through landscapes that delve deeply into the human experience. I blend the traditional elements of rap with the dynamic influences of Electronic, Jersey Club, and R&B, drawing inspiration from artists like Lil Uzi Vert and Midwxst.

I am particularly proud of and excited about my new album, “Ocean Star,” which I released in early April this year. Executive Produced by winston t & Dariz and featuring local artists such as Yungbc, HANK & more! Reaching this point in my career hasn’t been easy, but determination has been key. Anyone who claims to have achieved success entirely on their own either lacks true skill or has a faulty memory. Music is inherently social, and a career in it is built on the influence of mentors, peers, teachers, and musical idols—those who inspire, challenge, and collaborate with you. Investing in yourself early on is crucial.

Attending music school was a significant factor in my development, teaching me not only how to create music but also how to navigate the industry and build a name for myself. The name “Young Scorcher” symbolizes my burning passion and intensity. It reflects the fire within me—a relentless drive to break boundaries and redefine what it means to be an artist in today’s world.

Through my music, I aim to connect with others and push the limits of what is possible, always staying true to my unique vision and story.
