Meet Greg & Sonia Villanueva | Owner/Operators Of Piacenza Food Trailer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Greg & Sonia Villanueva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Greg & Sonia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My husband Greg has always dreamed of having our own business. Over the last 20 years, he has worked on the planning, concept, recipes and details of owning a business. We decided it was the right time to start our own business because I was terminated from my employment due to Covid-19.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business is an Italian Food Trailer, serving fresh dishes inspired by the Emilia-Romagna and Calabrian Regions of Italy. We make all our sauces, spreads and vinaigrettes from scratch with fresh ingredients. We have had challenges along the way, but we have been able to over come them. We like to support our local community and have donate to local charities to feed the hungry. We offer a variety of items with pricing to fit everyone’s budget.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we had friends visiting, we love to have them try different restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines. We will take them to get dessert from local small businesses like Big Acai, Vampire Penguin or Big Mama Events. Depending on the time of year, go to an Az Rattlers game, visit World Life Zoo, take a drive to Sedona or the Grand Canyon.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The support from our family, Jazmine & Chris, Daphne and Thalia is why we were and are able to be successful starting our own business.
