We had the good fortune of connecting with Henna Havila and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Henna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think that without stepping out from our comfort zone there is no growth so i definitely think that it is worth the risk. I would say that i’m a ”free soul” so i often just trust my intuition and usually decisions that i make are based on what feels right to me. I wouldn’t never wanna end up being old and looking back at my life regretting all the things that i didn’t do. There is also always risl that i fail but i think we can learn from everything so nothing is wasted.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel like the older i get the more i would wanna keep things to myself and nowadays i don’t share that much about myself on social media than i use to few years back but i could take a credit on keeping things real. How i represent myself and my life is 100% me, i may not tell everything about myself but what i do tell is real. I think that at this point i wish that some people could relate to me and the things that i share could be helpful to someone. I have in the past shared my experiences of having anorexia and battling with eating disorder and i’m raising my son alone so i wanna show an example that it is something you can do and what i think is important is that you’re still living your life, because being a parent doesn’t mean that you have to give up on your own dreams so i wish that i can inspire someone who is in a same situation as me. Nothing good comes easy and i think that all the things that i have gone through in my life has got me where i al today and it’s been rocky but i’m still breathing.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think i’m boring person to be showing the city to someone, since i always when i travel wanna go where the locals are and see what these local people are doing and places they go and i just wanna avoid all the tourist places but i’m going to try this. So the most fun experience was Phoenix Fan Fusion so that is something i could recommend to everyone. I loved people’s costumes there and how everyone were interacting with each others and it was just so much fun although i was being little bit sick there. I have horrible name memory and i can’t remember all the restaurants i have went to but there is so many good ones and something for everyone. I would also definitely take my friends to desert tour and do a roadtrip to see Sedona and Grand Canyon and Horseshoe Bend.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Shoutout would definitely go to people who are following me on social media, people who supports me there. I have had an opportunity to network with amazing people around the world and i have got many new friends that have became important to me and i do really value their opinions and they’re always rooting for me and wishing me the best. On the other hand i would absolutely wanna say thank you for the people who have doubted me, said that i can’t and people who have talked bad about me behind my back and spread lies about me, because without these people i would have never became this strong that i’m today. Without them i would probably have never realized that i can do so much more and i don’t have to stay in that toxic small town and end up just as miserable as they are, thinking they are more focused on what other people are doing with their lives than putting all that energy in to their own happiness. And don’t get me wrong, that small town do have some amazing people as well who enjoy their lives there and they do wish others the best.
