We had the good fortune of connecting with Imagine Threads and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Imagine, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
The path for my career was initially in many different mediums of work, but most were just positions held without any passion or love involved just a “job’ to make money. At a young age I knew I had a love for fashion, clothing, design, etc. as most do during a young age but for me it was almost an escape. Just as my passion grew, the road ahead was not following. I’ve had to take a different route to get where I wanted now. In present time I’m following my aspirations of that young kid who had so much passion for fashion, pursuing and following the business plan I set for myself during my college years. The “why”. In the end of all this I want something substantial, a piece in the fashion industry, a name, the brand. When people especially in Arizona my home, talk or hear about my work I want them to remember the brand name, what it was and what it is even after me. The love, dedication and the constant perseverance to bring a new level of streetwear in the valley of the sun.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I set out to put in people’s minds of my work, is that it’s unique in a way that’s edgy, dark and has a bit of psychedelic side. The feeling I get when I see each customers face, even returning customers faces is honestly what makes me the most proud of my creation(s). The feeling of happiness, or that feeling of uniqueness they’ll be able to represent something that not everyone else has. Where I am today definitely wasn’t easy, I’ve faced a lot self doubt, which I think is the biggest obstacle for anyone. In this world you must dive in, trust yourself and be confident in your work, in the beginning this wasn’t so. I came over this challenge by sticking to my heart and mind, I knew it wasn’t easy from the start but at the same time you have to remember anything great will never be easy to gain. As an adult the lesson or advice I give to anyone is to be one with yourself, learn everyday and believe in what you do. What I want the world to know is this, my work will always be different it won’t be for everyone but what it is, is true to what I’ll always represent and that’s myself.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Anytime I can get with friends and have a good time, they’re are plenty of places we love to hit. For me I love supporting local, that means we hit a taco truck or food truck of some sort. Lolas tacos, Baja roots. Etc are some of the best food trucks in Arizona. Also local joints to sit and dine such as La Piñata, rositas Mexican food,. Of course can’t forget about coffee shops, some of my favorites are The Buzzed Goat, Descent coffee, Cartel. Best spots to hang definitely Cobra bar arcade, hi~score, and Valley Bar.
