Meet Jackson VanDerPol: Musician & TikTok Comedian

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackson VanDerPol and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jackson, what principle do you value most?
The most important principle to me in pursuing any kind of artistic outlet is making sure that it’s genuine. I feel like sometimes we get caught up too much in how well our product performs in the realm of social media and we end up chasing the numbers rather than passion for the art itself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My band Viper Club is the happiest I’ve ever been with making music. It’s unapologetic in what it is and never tries to appeal to anyone. It is what it is and I love that. It’s freeing ya know? Also, I started lightly pursuing comedy in the realm of TikTok and that’s been extremely well received by people. I love making things for people and I love it when I can see them resonate. It keeps me going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Probably Green New American Vegetarian. It has wonderful Vegan options and they have really good food. Like seriously. Go try it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother, Nate VanDerPol. Without him I wouldn’t be even a third of the person and musician that I am now. My manager, Ami Rogers. Every crazy idea I’ve ever had she’s always done her best effort to make a reality. I’ve been really lucky to have had the opportunity to work with the people I do now and I don’t want to ever take that for granted.
