Meet Jacob LaFrance | Entrepreneur | Founder of Instinct Card

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob LaFrance and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacob LaFrance, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up I always had the Entrepreneurship spirit and I loved everything business. I would participate in startup competitions, do research across broad industries, and constantly try to figure out what I wanted to do in the business world. I decided at a young age that I wanted to create a path for myself, rather than work under someone for the rest of my life. I think this passion is what fueled my current venture at Instinct Card. A little backstory was in August of 2022 I was at a face-paced crypto networking event in Washington, DC. In attendance were NBA, NFL players, and very successful business owners. I found that in networking, a first impression is the most important thing when creating long term relationships. Business’s are throwing away opportunity by using paper business cards which 99% of the time end up either in the trash or crumpled in someone’s wallet. This exactly is where the idea for my own business came to fruition.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Instinct Cards revolutionize traditional business cards with their innovative built-in technology, which allows you to effortlessly network and share your various contact and media profiles with a single tap. With Instinct Card you can say goodbye to fumbling for various cards or having to reorder new cards just to update your information—Instinct Cards empower you to change all your details at your convenience and tailor which social channels you showcase at different times. We are here to elevate your networking game to the next level because we believe that your network determines your net worth. The journey hasn’t been easy but with the team that’s been behind me, as well as those helping me along the way it’s been such a great experience. Starting a company while being a full time student and having a part-time job is very rewarding.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If they were visiting the Phoenix area I would take them to some of my favorite food spots because the Valley has so much to offer. A couple of the places that I really love are Harumi Sushi and Monroes Hot Chicken. For sightseeing I would make the 2.5 hour drive up to Sedona and go on a hike. The Valley and its surrounding areas have so much to offer in terms of outdoor recreation. Lastly I would take them to Venture Cafe which connects entrepreneurs and innovators on a weekly basis.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to my parents and girlfriend for being so supportive throughout this whole journey. They’ve constantly been there for feedback, criticism, and support whenever I need it. I also want to shoutout my great advisory team and how they’ve helped me with advice throughout this whole process.
