We had the good fortune of connecting with James Sanson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi James, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work–life balance is a moving target, especially for someone who truly loves what they do. When you’re passionate about your work, it can feel a bit like a kid who loves video games or skateboarding; you can lose track of time because you’re so locked in.

Over the years I’ve stopped thinking about “perfect balance” and started thinking in terms of priorities and seasons. There are different boxes in life, faith, family, health, business, and there are seasons when one box needs more of you than the others. A true entrepreneur could easily work on their craft 24/7, but if you value your family, you learn to hit the brakes and be fully present for the moments that matter most.

On the flip side, if every spare minute goes to family and none to your responsibilities, you’ll struggle to hit your goals and it can look like a lack of commitment at work. What I’ve learned is that it’s not about choosing business over family or family over business; it’s about being clear on your priorities, communicating them, and then honoring them with your time. For me, family comes first, and my business is built around that value.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve built several brands across multiple industries, but right now I’m especially excited about MaricopaHomesForSale.com. It’s a platform focused on serving buyers and sellers in Maricopa and the greater Phoenix area with real, local expertise and a modern marketing engine behind it.

In real estate, creating a logo or a name is easy; building a brand that consistently delivers results for clients is the hard part. With MaricopaHomesForSale.com, there are a few core pillars:

A truly helpful, local website. It has to be fast, user‑friendly, and full of hyper‑local information so people can really understand Maricopa’s neighborhoods, schools, and lifestyle.

Authority and trust. That means delivering value through content, earning high‑quality backlinks and media mentions, and building a strong reputation online and offline.

Marketing that meets people where they are. We leverage social media, YouTube, PPC, Google LSA, and traditional marketing to keep our listings and brand in front of the right people. Real estate is a “your money, your life” space, so trust and visibility take time and consistent effort to build.

Remarkable client experiences. At the end of the day, none of the marketing matters if you don’t take great care of people. My goal is for every buyer and seller to feel so well served that leaving a five‑star review is the natural next step.

My background is in international marketing and advertising, and I spent time in Manhattan in the fashion industry, which taught me a lot about branding, presentation, and work ethic. I also grew up with very humble beginnings. My parents took me to church and Bible studies, and along the way, successful businesspeople took an interest in me and poured into me. That mix of mentorship, faith, and hustle is where my business skills were forged.

Nothing about this journey has been “instant.” It has been simple but not easy: learn fast, execute hard, and keep going when most people quit. Over time I’ve learned to have compassion for others and to respect that not everyone is meant to walk the same path. If I’m on the court with Michael Jordan, my role might be more fan and student than teammate, and that’s okay. The key is to find the arena where you’re meant to master your craft.

What I want the world to know about me and about MaricopaHomesForSale.com is this: I’m obsessed with mastery, service, and constant improvement. My team and I wake up every day focused on helping families make some of the biggest financial and life decisions they’ll ever make, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I’d want them to really experience why so many people are choosing to call Maricopa and the greater Phoenix area home.

Day 1–2: Discovering Maricopa
We’d start right in Maricopa, exploring the different neighborhoods so they can feel the community vibe, places like Rancho El Dorado, The Villages, and Province. We’d grab coffee at a local spot, walk the parks, and hit Copper Sky for some outdoor time. In the evening, we’d enjoy a laid‑back dinner at a local restaurant and watch one of our famous Arizona sunsets.

Day 3–4: Desert, golf, and lakes
Next up would be a mix of golf and desert scenery. We’d play a round at one of the nearby courses, then take a drive out toward the desert trails for hiking and sunset views. Depending on the season, we might head to one of the nearby lakes around the Valley for kayaking or just relaxing by the water, it surprises a lot of people how much outdoor lifestyle Arizona really offers.

Day 5–6: Phoenix and surrounding cities
I’d take them into Phoenix, Chandler, or Gilbert to experience some of the best dining, entertainment, and nightlife. Great food, live music, and vibrant downtown areas really show off the energy of the metro area. We’d mix in a few local favorites, maybe a great taco spot, a steakhouse, and a brunch place.

Day 7: Reset and reflect
We’d wrap up with a slower day back in Maricopa, maybe a morning walk, time with family, and a relaxed dinner at home. I’d want them to leave with a real sense of why families love it here: the space, the community, the sunsets, and the feeling that you can build a great life.

My hope is that by the end of the week, they’d not only have had a great time but also understand why I’m so passionate about helping people buy and sell homes in this area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, my shoutout goes to my wife and my family. They give me the incredible gift of being able to be fully myself without judgment. I’m the guy who shows up to every important moment in their lives, and when I’m not with them, I’m pouring my heart into building my businesses.

What means the most to me is that they understand and support that drive. Business, for me, is not just about money, it’s about the art of building something meaningful. When you love the art of creating, it feels almost like a game you get to play every day. Having a wife and family who “get” that and still know they are my top priority is everything.

I’ve seen what happens when someone’s home life constantly works against their calling. It’s hard to win in business when you’re not supported at home. I’m incredibly grateful that my family encourages my ambition while keeping me grounded in what truly matters.
