Meet Javier Carlos: DJ Entertainer and Video Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Javier Carlos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Javier, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Over the years I’ve always asked the question: Are you happy? Friends, family, even teachers. There’s probably no shortage of people in my life that have heard that question. Truth is – I am just a curious person. Even in school, I was once given the award “Inquirer of the year”. Though I continue to ask it, I rarely think to ask myself this question. Am I happy? What makes me happy? At first sight, I think of my childhood memories and about the first times I discovered my passions. Filmmaking, entertainment, and being in front of others. I think about these experiences and wonder why I am not actively putting myself in more situations where I can be happy. I believe that these moments of micro-limelight make me feel happy because I get to show-off in a way that’s not braggadocios or in-your-face. Instead, its more like a musical. After months of preparation we get to celebrate and showcase what we’ve made. Everyone cheers and celebrates in anticipation. I believe this makes me happy because it shows me how much we can all do when we work together. That’s why performing, entertaining, and creating with others makes me happy. 

What should our readers know about your business?
My name is Javier Carlos and I am owner and DJ with C West Entertainment. Our number one priority is to create memorable events, with great music, and a party-atmosphere. We are a team of DJs and MCs and service all of Arizona. We especially love traveling and love to get up north – especially in the summertime. We’re also working to partner with some local communities and elderly care facilities to provide music, for free, to those who deserve it the most. After reading Blake Mycoskie’s book Start Something that Matters, (he’s the founder of TOM’S) I have decided that my primary mission in business must be to help others. While I do run a business, and the object of any business is to stay in business, I realized that can’t be the only reason to operate. That’s when I looked back on the best events I’ve ever done. This took me back to the Fun Runs for Cancer, my involvement at a new elderly-care facility, and even community events for apartment complexes. What these events had in common was that they brought people together over music. Everyone loves music. It’s at the core of who we are and to be in a position where I can provide entertainment for people to enjoy themselves makes me want to do more for to help

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Every American should make it a bucket-list goal to visit Yellowstone, Wy. The phrase alone “Watch For Thermal Features” will forever bring laughter (with the occasional eye-roll) after you visit this breathtaking part of America. Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, is America’s treasure. See Ol’faithful and some of the largest waterfalls. Meat lovers will feel at home with the Bison burger. It was probably grown out back and served up that same day! There’s really something for everyone here. Nature freaks will fall in love with the wildlife. Kids can experience real-life Bison and Moose walking around the park. This is where I’d take anyone. Yelllowstone is a must-see for all.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If there’s anyone that deserves credit or recognition for helping me it has to be the culture I was raised in. Not only from a supportive family, but also in the schools and social circles as well. I’d like to thank my first theatre director, Kristin Caraway for her constant support. Throught the ups-and-downs of life and understanding me for what I could do. Dallas Rogers, my partner, for her constant support and push to do what I truly love. Even being there to help make my dreams come true.
