We had the good fortune of connecting with Jawanza Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jawanza, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
In a world where anything can happen, I feel it is critical to learn how to defend one’s self without use of a weapon. Through that a person gains confidence that spreads into many aspects of their lives. It’s also a skill that can be passed on.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Boxing coach now former amateur Boxer and currently run a clothing Brand named “Can U Box” as well. On the Boxing side I competed and had 17 fights with 12 wins and 5 losses. 2 Knock out wins.
Coaching for 10 years worked with all levels of fighters and coached and worked along side many world championships. Currently working along side Hall of fame former world champion. I’ve always tried to learn from the best.
“Can U Box” started during the coronavirus lockdown. I genuinely thought I’d never fight again during this time. I started making digital what I call art now but at the time I wouldn’t have called that. As other sports started to be allowed to take place boxing was one of the last sports to be allowed which in turn made this brand grow stronger. Now we are in the best place we’ve ever been. I guess timing really IS everything.
With all of my products I try to make them have at least one or all of 3 things. Purpose, a message, practical use.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We can go to fun castle in middle town, it’s a cool arcade with laser tag and go karts. Get a table at Texas de Brazil
