We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazzmin Yoshieko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazzmin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When starting my business in 2018, I was finishing my two degrees at Grand Canyon University and knew that I wanted to create something lasting that I could utilize to scale and create jobs for others who also offer wellness services. I studied Exercise Science and Psychology and knew that I wanted a business that would help people live healthier lives and also provide opportunities for others to share their expertise and help develop this vision. In other words, starting a business was never for myself but really for a bigger purpose of serving others and essentially trying to make the world a better place.

What should our readers know about your business?
I have two businesses now. I’m known for my first business Flow, which is popular for our wellness series called “Ganja Flow.” This event was curated from my passion for plant medicine and psychology. I launched this in 2018 with hopes to educate the community on plant medicine’s benefits when used mindfully. I have fused yoga, meditation and breath work with plant medicine education and have been blessed to work with a wide array of companies who see the vision and have supported as sponsors and educators with me.

I got here today with a now 5-year-old business by staying consistent even when times were the hardest for me financially and mentally, I never gave up and I never stopped. It is not easy by any means, but if you constantly work on your mindset and retrain your thoughts to empower and uplift you in hard times, you can truly accomplish anything.

Mindset is key to overcoming obstacles in life whether it’s personal or business related. That is the key to my success. I come from very humble beginnings and have battled depression, anxiety and PTSD, so it takes constant attention and care when it comes to maintaining a healthy and strong mindset. The work is never really done, so I teach that concept in my classes as well to help empower others to make those shifts and develop that deeper mindfulness within themselves so they too can succeed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Arizona has so much to offer. I never planned on living here and it took me a while to really learn the land. However, I would highly recommend visiting Tucson for the good food like the restaurant I recently fell in love with- Tumerico, Sedona for the beautiful landscape and great energy, and I would also take them to my favorite coffee shops like SPCE Coffee in Dtwn Phoenix and Cafetal Coffee in Dtwn Tempe.

For spectacular views and nature exploring I would also take them up north to explore the forests and especially water wheel falls in Payson, which is a great place to relax and swim or even fish in the fresh water.

For my plant friendly folks I would highly recommend checking out these two lounges in Tempe- The High Lounge and in Tucson- Harambe Cafe. These are both 21+ lounges that you can hangout, relax, eat and enjoy community that is friendly and loves plant medicine. In other words, these are 420-friendly lounges that host great events and are unique to Arizona.

I could go on for days about where to eat and explore but those are a few that come to mind right away.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a lot of individuals I could shoutout who have been a part of my journey. From professors to yoga teachers, mentors, and fellow yoga instructors. The list is lengthy however I always want to express gratitude for each and every person who helped support my journey as a student, mother, and now multi-business owner. I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the many mentors and teachers that have taught me a long the way. I am grateful for the love and encouragement that has guided me all of these years.

I do want to name a few of the books that also contributed to the mindset and perspective that I have developed which has empowered me to do the things I’ve done such as finish my degrees, start businesses, and raise a healthy beautiful daughter.

I recommend all of these as they help shape your thought process and provide encouragement and wisdom needed to succeed.
