We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Knapp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I actually began my journey of starting my own business immediately after the covid lock down. Myself as well as many others were left without a stream of income during that time and it was a very scary experience. I had always meal prepped for my family or friends as a hobby. because, I loved cooking and seeing people actually excited to eat food that tasted good and was actually healthy. One day I meal prepped for myself and posted on Instagram “Hit me up for meal prep” and to my surprise the messages starting pouring in from people inquiring on how they get going. Everything just slowly took off from there and I’m proud to say my very first client is still my client today (shout out Rudy!).

What should our readers know about your business?
Jenna’s Kitchen Creations is a small meal prep business that delivers specialized meals for your dietary needs directly to your home. I’m extremely proud of the positive reviews and support I’ve received from my clients about my cooking and also the negative ones. You have made my small business a better one because of both! No part of this has been easy, it included a lot of exhausted days, missed events, and early nights in. I’ve completely built my business from the ground up and I am no where near my end goal. But, I am looking forward to where this path leads me and what amazing opportunities are in store for myself and Jenna’s Kitchen Creations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I actually love this question! I am big chicken person so I would have to start by taking her to Monroe’s hot chicken (the greens are yummmm), once we grabbed that we would head up to Sedona and hike a few of my favorite trails up there. Cathedral rock is a perfect hike for non experts like myself. After spending a few days there we would have to head over to antelope canyon and take the private tour to avoid all the crowds. Last but not least I would swing by horseshoe bend at sunset for the perfect end of trip twilight photo.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I really have to thank my friends for not only being some of my first customers. But, for giving me honest feedback on my recipes and how I can always improve to be better. My parents for helping me complete drop offs when I was just too tired to do it myself. Cameron for being the best taste tester I’ve ever had and consoling me when I was having a breakdown because the rice “just didn’t cook right”. I couldn’t do what I do without all of you!
