We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Kemp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I originally started The Wonder Crop to advocate for the use of Hemp in all forms. Why? Because Hemp truly is The Wonder Crop! It has thousands of product uses AND is beneficial to the Earth. I love to make things with my hands though, so I decided to create a Hemp product myself to provide a direct benefit to consumers. Having a flourishing garden with tons of herbs, making herbal soap seemed like a good way to go. And so it was!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My regular full time job is in video production. I have worked in freelance production, audio visual, event production, and for the last 3 years full time for a media production company in Chandler, AZ. I love working in this field as I am a creative by nature! This background is why I started The Wonder Crop YouTube channel- to use my skills in video to spread the word about the benefits of Hemp!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I was given guidance and motivation as part of the Landmark Series Leadership Program. During this 12 week course, I was able to dedicate time every week solely to developing the idea for my business and acting on those ideas.
