We had the good fortune of connecting with Joey Rea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joey, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk is a scary thing for many people. Shoot, it is a scary thing for me, for sure! But honestly, when it comes to how I think about risk and what I might gain from taking the risk, usually it is the only way to go. From risk comes so much growth, whether it be personal, financial, spiritual, anything really… if you don’t take the risk, you never know what could have happened. If you stay in your comfort zone your whole life, where will that get you? Surely, not as far as it would if you were to have stepped outside of your comfort zone and taken the risk.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First off, we would wake up early and head out to Dreamy Draw for a beautiful morning hike! After that, we would hit up Luci’s Healthy Marketplace for a refreshing and strong cold brew and a little bit of breakfast. We would probably head to the pool later that day, or maybe even head out to the Salt River for a little rest and relaxation on the water. We would most likely go for a fun dinner at Sushiholic to end the day. The next few days would look quite similar, but I would make sure we hit up these coffee shops and breakfast spots: Queen Creek Olive Mill, LGO, Lux, Fame, Berdena’s, Press Coffee, and Wildflower Bread Company For food, we would for sure cook Chula Seafood salmon at home one night, we would probably go to George’s Kitchen, St Francis, Crujiente Tacos, Forno 301 (maybe here twice!!) Fun spots we would most likely hit for shopping, drinks and treats up would be the Churchill, Essence Bakery, Local Nomad, Muse, Phoenix General, the Wandering Tortoise, Huss tasting room, Phoenix Beer Co, Helton, and Arizona Wilderness (Downtown location).
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I could give TONS of shoutouts!! But, my most important shoutout would be the support I receive from my sister, Sydney. She is a marketing genius and she has helped me sort through ideas, create content, be my guinea pig for just about any new recipe I come up with. She has given me support in tough times and pushed me when I needed a little tough love, I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today with Wild Sun Wellness without that lady <3
