We had the good fortune of connecting with John & Donna Scarborough and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John & Donna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After working for over 30 years John as a firefighter and Donna in Quality Assurance we decided to go explore and see what our country has to offer. So many of us get stuck in the never ending cycle of life and we wanted something different.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We both had regular jobs before we set out to be full time travelers. Our social media came after we got started and it serves multiple purposes for us. We love sharing tips, tricks and RV related content with others and we love to inspire others to get out and explore, even if it is your own backyard. There is so much to see and so many new people to meet.
The other is the legacy. With us putting out content on Youtube and other platforms we will be able to look back years from now and relive the trip. Not only that, many generation from now our grand children’s children can get to know who we were. They will be able to see and hear us, its a crazy thought.
Neither of us are very techy people. So we have had to learn about how to film, edit, social media, how to build a website, hashtags, algorithms ect. We had no idea when we started and we are still learning everyday.
We are like many others that are already out here traveling we want to show that no matter you age, you can get out and travel at least at some level.
One of our favorite sayings
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad wholesome charitable views cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s life” Mark Twain

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
While we have traveled around before retirement this is our second “lap” since we went full time RV and our first trip to Arizona. If we had friends coming to this area to visit we would have them in the Tucson area. We loved visiting place like Tombstone and seeing the old west or maybe Jerome to sit and have a coffee while overlooking the valley. Another has been Sedona. The scenery is breath taking, the food was amazing and the hiking was great. Arizona has been a very pleasant surprise in culture, scenery and history.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We used to take long road trips and on one of those trips Donna would read out loud blogs and such to pass the time. One of those was a blog called Bumfuzzled. They are traveling the world by sailboat and it planted the seed that traveling like we do can be done. During that time we had a sailboat. So, a lot of our initial thoughts were around getting our sailboat ready to visit the islands. We ran across a podcast of a couple that goes by Keep You Daydream. They are traveling by RV and we think that is where the spark to see the US got its start.
