We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Whiteley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, what do you attribute your success to?
I started my own business as an extension of my deep love for the Vedic sciences. Vedic astrology and Ayurvedic medicine became staple parts of my day to day life from a young age and have continued to inform who I am up to this point. Sharing these ancient sciences and the many gifts they provide became a natural progression in turning the things that I love into a way to also meet my financial needs and do the work that brings me joy. I would be practicing these arts regardless of whether it became a business for me and that has always pointed me in the direction that I was doing the right thing!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my practice with very small expectations for what it would become and for all the places it would take me and the people I would meet along the way. I had no idea how this path would become such a major part of my life and studies. Vedic astrology is a lesser known art in the west compared with Western astrology and many people who seek me out have not had the experience of having a consultation in this form. Most walk away with a newly found appreciation and understanding of themself and their life trajectory. Vedic astrology can provide confirmation of our life path as well as correct us or give us a nudge in the right direction when we are feeling stuck. Whether in love, business, location, health, or spiritual practice. Making big life decisions can be greatly assisted with a chart consultation.

I got to where I am in my business I hope by continuously deepening my study of the Vedic arts and becoming the most authentic version of myself I am capable of. It also required a big learning curve as I certainly fall into a more ”right brained” or artistic minded person, understanding how to maintain a successful business was an acquired taste for me! I learned the benefits and freedom that are found in discipline, and that my going to this place in the areas I wasn’t so strong in, I actually ended up creating a life that allowed me to work in this field.

I’ve learned many lessons from this path, but the biggest one would probably be to never stop developing and checking in with your inner sense of Dharma (correct action in each moment). Listen to that little voice deep within that knows the truth. Learn to trust it more and it will strengthen like a muscle you are working out.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A great time in my mind would start at sunrise. Watching the sunrise is one of the healthiest things we can do for our bodies and minds and also helps to regulate our internal rhythms to that of nature. A short hike up a mountain or vista point to start getting your body warmed up to meet the day followed by the prize of a beautiful sunrise! A relaxing morning in a cafe to chat and have a latte with breakfast would certainly make a nice follow up afterwords. When time is not of the essence, checking out an art museum or exhibit during the afternoon also relaxes me and is very soothing on the senses. In the evening dinner in accordance with the season works well (sushi, Indian, Thai being some of my favorites). Tucson has a lot to offer in the way of the downtown barrio neighborhoods and a tour of the downtown neighborhoods to me always gives people a sense of the place we live and it’s unique aesthetic. Time out in the desert is also important and seeing our unique ecosystem as well as the unmatched beauty of our sunsets would be a lovely way to finish the day off.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I will always start with giving deep gratitude to my teacher and mentors. Without their wisdom, willingness to share, and inspiration my ability to succeed would be absent. I am also always indebted to my patients who come to see me and seek out the tools of Vedic wisdom. I learn so much every single day in my practice from them, both about the sciences and about myself.
