Meet Julie Kang | Inventor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Kang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julie, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
Making my product and bringing it to market is the most important thing I’ve done as a parent. I made the car seat cooler out of love for my daughter and wanted to keep her safe. In turn, I am able to help parents keep their kids safe too and that love ripples. I want to show my daughter that no matter what anyone thinks or says, to always follow their dreams and do it with integrity and intention. To follow your dreams and carve that path is what motivates me to continue, so I can be a good example and influence for her.
What should our readers know about your business?
Getting here today has been a journey of highs and lows. I would not change a thing because they all taught me valuable lessons. I also was did not have a formal business education, so it does not matter what your background is, if you want to achieve your dreams and visions, you will. We live in an age where there is a plethora of information, readily at our finger tips and you can use it to your advantage. I built most of my business from seeking information online, books and reaching out to people for help. You do not need an advanced degree to succeed and accomplish your dreams. Just the courage and taking that first step is all you need.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Arizona is all about the beautiful outdoors. I would definitely take them hiking and visit some of our beautiful destinations like Sedona. I would also take them to eat mexican food because we are the southwest!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is no specific person or group but I would say collectively, I have received alot of help from other people in the industry just by asking questions, not being afraid to look stupid and open to receiving all the information I can. I found alot of people are willing to help in anyway, whether big or small. And even those that do not want to help, is also a lesson in the end and ways that helped structure my character.
