We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathleen Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kathleen, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Hi and thank you for having me here. I feel my business Mojave Wellness Studio Az. has had an important social impact in the community during these challenging times that we’ve been experiencing for the last couple of years. In having to adjust our lifestyles with all the social distancing and quarantining, it has taken a toll on our physical and mental health. The social impact my business helps by using the power of touch which is an essential component to the human body and mental health to help us thrive and feel connected. My business and I help people to learn how to reconnect with themselves by using a variety of mind body techniques, while raising the awareness of their mental health.

I created Mojave Wellness Studio as a safe space for people to heal, learn about awareness of themselves and to grow from the things they become aware that are created by anxiety, stress, depression, trauma or just life in general that take a toll on a person and who need a little assistance checking in with their physical mental health. which results in “Were the connection to the self starts and he healing begins “ by using holistic and natural healing modalities.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally? We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

What keeps me busy professionally is the continued yearly education that i am required to do every two-years to maintain and keep my state license active and current as a Massage Therapist, as well as wearing many different hats in my business since i am a solo practitioner. As i learn newer techniques and modalities it gives me the opportunity to bring more options and newer ideas to my clients to ch one from to try or add to their mental & physical wellness and self-care routines.
What sets me apart from the others, is that I take the time to sit down and really listen to my clients and their needs . I do not rush them through their appointments . I allow them to be heard and validated in what they have to say. I also treat them like part of the Mojave Wellness Family and not just another $ dollar sign walking through my door. For that my clients are very appreciative of and grateful for.
I am most proud that my clients feel safe and comfortable with me and my training with the ability to facilitate the healing that’s needs to be done and grateful to be able to experience their healing in that moment of healing. It humbles me to be able to give someone that gift of healing and be able to hold space for them to do so.
I got where i am today through nine years of hard work, determination to never give up. Even though ive wanted to many times, but haven’t because of the compassion and love for what i do and offer my clients. Was it easy? NO it was not easy, but i overcame many challenges that life has thrown at me over the last nine years. In those nine years I have learned to roll with the punches that life hands me and not to stress over what i cannot control or have control over and just let it go.I have also learned not to take everything so seriously. Life is short and you need ton enjoy it wholeheartedly. One lesson i did learn in taking my own advice that i always tell my clients is to take a step back, inhale and take a deep breathe, hold it for a minute then slowly exhale  and let it go ending with reconnecting to yourself to help others.
One thing I want others to know about me and my business is that i am not some big corporation or some CEO franchise, but a small local business that cares about their clients and their physical/mental wellness and wellbeing and not just about the bottom line. I take the time with my clients to be vulnerable with them to show them that i can relate to their experiences and for them not to feel that they are alone in this healing process, which results in a more personal healing for them. The time , care and compassion i show my clients is what keeps them coming back.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

If my Bestie was coming for a week long trip, depending on the season of year; I would like to take them to one of the local lakes  to hang out by the water maybe camp for a night or two and enjoy some o the nature around us . If they were up for a hike i would take then to white tank mountain park for a hike at their waterfall trail then maybe out to eat at a local mom and pop family owned restaurant for some Greek food named Greek Town, they have amazing food and its a fun place to visit. Maybe take a day drive to Oak creek Canyon or Pine to shop at small local shops there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would  like to thank all my personal clients ! For if it wasn’t for them i would not be in business.

I am thankful for my husband & Family for loving me through and supporting my dreams in creating such a sacred healing space for others.

I would like to thank my Colluege & friends for encouraging me and allowing me to use them as a sounding board, Guinea pigs and treatment advisers.

I am also thankful for my own life challenges that allowed me to walk my own healing journey and am blessed to have the understanding in what others are going through and have the opportunity to be that person to hold space for them and help them start their own healing journey or to be able to walk beside them as they heal.

Lastly, I would like to thank my fur babies for being there for me to ground me and bring me back to center to be able to help others in their healing journeys.
