We had the good fortune of connecting with Kazaya & Nikko Tello and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kazaya & Nikko, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our thought process when creating Digital Circus was to create a platform for not only us as musicians, but as well as to give other artists an opportunity to share their art with the community. In every Digital Circus event, we strive to make sure our artists feel excited and thrilled to perform at our events as we maintain a professional environment and approach our shows with an Artist/Showmen mindset. Overall our philosophy with DC is to produce a production built on PLUR, our one and only rule when it comes to hosting our events. PLUR stands for peace, love, unity, and respect something we spread throughout our supporters and those we work with!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The two biggest things that set us apart from others are that we are a company founded by artists for artists. We are a family-owned/run business built on uniting the community through music/art. We are most proud of the growth we have achieved in such a short period of time and our ability to be versatile with our events! We are huge music lovers and believe all genres of music should be showcased. Digital Circus definitely got to where we are today by asking ourselves this question…” how can we make each event better than the last?” and most importantly actively taking criticism, both positive and negative, and learning how to implement it for the future. Nikko and I will 100% agree it is not easy…there is a ton that goes into putting on events, however, the feeling after a night of smiles and bringing joy to our audience is that much more rewarding!! With that being said…a lesson we both learned along the way is to be persistent even when things begin to go south and strive to always persevere because anything is possible. For example, one time we were hosting a summer pool event, and out of nowhere our summer day turned into a rainy one, however instead of canceling we found alternate options to ensure that the show went on! DC wants the world to know the circus is meant for everyone, it is a safe place where you can be your true authentic self.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For starters, we have to start the day off with some delicious breakfast from Babystacks, we love the ube pancakes! After that definitely experience a day club in Vegas where you can enjoy some summer rays, outstanding music, and amazing pools. We recommend Daylight or Tao Beach Club, just to name a few. Some really nice areas to get lost in would be Main Street aka the arts district stop at Buffalo Exchange and check out the unique thrift stores down there if we’re feeling daring maybe get a $10 tattoo next door then check out Rebar and Soul Belly for some delicious food and live music! As for later in the night, you can have dinner at the famous Capos which is a really fun and great atmosphere all together. For some great music Area 15 usually has some of the best DJs and experiences in the world. Then if your looking for a night of cheap drinks make sure to check out any PTs location for happy hour, but our personal favorite would be the PTs Ranch location. Also for all the nocturnal people out there hit up Club Ego after hours. lastly, we always have to check if the homies are having an event so check out Fluorescent Records, Mictlan Promotions, 6th Fremont, House of Gold, and Nothingtodolv for the best local events!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to Las Vegas Academy of the Arts an amazing high school I graduated from where I majored in music. I feel like if I didn’t go to LVA I wouldn’t have had the knowledge or opportunities given to me today! Im forever grateful to the mentors and the school for allowing us to be creative in our craft and preparing us to prosper in the music industry! Thank you! ~Kazaya

One of the biggest impacts on my career was attending the music production school Icon Collective. Here I was taught the discipline, mindset, and skills needed to succeed in the music industry. Without Icon I would not have been able to navigate the ever-challenging sea of the industry. However, after graduating from Icon I possessed the knowledge of potential paths that I could pursue as well as carving my own path. Thank you So Much!!

Lastly, a special shoutout to our number one supporters our parents for always being there for us, helping us achieve our goals, and upholding our passions as if they were their own!! We love you guys!! THANK YOU
