Meet KC Lyon | Computer Repair Store Owner / Marine Corps Veteran / Heavy Metal Vocalist

We had the good fortune of connecting with KC Lyon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KC, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Life is too short to not spend every waking second on creating something that will help another person in some capacity. Being our towns best local computer repair storefront in Prescott Valley has not only provided jobs for those in my community, but we’ve been able to focus our efforts on helping the elderly get a handle on these newer life-changing and life-saving tools. Computers and technology are a linchpin in retirement communities like ours because they help those in their later years order medications, talk to family and doctors, order groceries online, and do research on their interests and hobbies. We owe it to our seniors to give them affordable access to the tools they will need to enjoy their sunset years.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel I always have been a slower learner, but being older and wiser I’ve developed skills to optimize the learning process. I’ve always been a “put in your 10,000 hours and you’ll become a master” kind of guy. Through sheer brute force I became good at my computer repair craft. The brute force method also helped me become a better vocalist and stage performer for my musical projects.
Your success is defined by how much you hustle and struggle. You become great at hustling and improve your work ethic if you need your craft to feed you and your family. I needed to become good. I needed to succeed. Coming home a failure isn’t an option when you count on it to take care of your loved ones. I went out there, applied sheer brute force, made myself get better at my craft by putting in my 10,000 hours, struggled and hustled, and now I’m finally reaping those benefits.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d definitely creep around the seedier parts of Northern Arizona. The Greater Prescott Area has a weird eclectic group of hippies, scholars, rednecks, crackheads, and musicians… all full of fascinating stories and tales of trials and tribulations. Northern AZ has fantastic wine as well, so don’t be afraid to get lost in Cottonwood, Jerome, Prescott, or Sedona with a wine bottle in hand… Fantastic adventures will surely find you.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife, Stephanie Lyon. She is the pinnacle of what professional leadership can look like under the hardest of conditions. I learned more about leadership through her than I did in my early Marine Corps days!
