We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Bellows and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The creation of SaddleCast started with an idea to solve a problem I was having with my young horse and his sore back issues. At the time that my young horse was able to be ridden, I was starting to train in Competitive Endurance, but I couldn’t start training until I figured out the Saddle issues I was having. Saddlecast become not just a labor of love for me personally but also a solution for fellow equestrians in various disciplines having the same issues.

What should our readers know about your business?
SaddleCast is an innovative Saddle Fitting tool unlike anything on the market today. It creates an exact mold of your horse’s back so you can take it with you saddle shopping, send it into a Saddle maker for a custom fit or keep track of your horses wellbeing over the months of training or a layup. Its truly unique in its class.

Mistakes are what grow a company, not its success. Mistakes are not easy to deal with, but it keeps you learning and figuring out what you can do. We have and will continue to make the mistakes and we will conquer them all to bring SaddleCast to all fellow riders and help solve their problems as much as it helped solved mine.

SaddleCast is here to help horses first and foremost. Equestrian riders of all disciplines can benefit from listening to their horses to make sure they are happy, healthy and comfortable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love having a market in Arizona and our favorite places so far are Scottsdale and Cave Creek. These welcoming towns are our go to when we have friends, educational seminars and lessons going on.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my late husband Joshua Bellows for his brilliant idea on the creation of SaddleCast. Without his support, guidance and amazing brilliance SaddleCast would not be helping horses and fellow riders as we are today.

I also want to thank my Operations Manager, Dale Melville for the amazing support he has provided going through the hardest times in our lives losing a member of our team, best friend and husband, Joshua Bellows.

If you know you are making a difference, even in the slightest, keep going no matter what.
