We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristine Robin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristine, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pretty much had the desire to sing early on. Some of my earliest memories are of singing to my Disney records! Once I got older I started singing and acting in plays and that’s when I fell in love with performing. Entertaining people, making them smile, laugh and feel something was so fun and satisfying to me I had to do it more!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Although I always had the passion in my heart to sing and act early on, my family was less than excited about me wanting to go into the business. They were afraid it would lead me down a wrong path. I married for the 1st time very young and he was not supportive of my singing either. I ended up not pursuing it for years because he forbid it. I had 2 kids and poured my life into them which left me fulfilled at the time. I loved being a Mom and there for my children. When my 1st marriage failed I found myself looking into what band I could join and try my hand at my first love again.

After a lot of practice I started performing again with numerous bands. I ended up meeting my music manager while I was practicing at a Studio, and I have been with him ever since! He specializes in tribute shows so I started out singing back-up for some of his big projects. After being approached forever by people asking me to sing Stevie Nicks because I looked like her, I decided to see if I could. I didn’t realize that I had such a strong vibrato that she is known for and then it was relatively easy to get her tone down! I practiced like a beast and now I have my own band doing Stevie! So much fun!

I would like people to know they should never give up on their dreams, no matter how old they are and no matter what people say about it. It’s not their life, it is yours!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely have to take them up to Cave Creek and go to the bull riding on Friday nights at the Buffalo Chip! What a fun town, you can wonder around there for hours and get the feel of the wild west. A true Arizona experience! Another favorite spot that my husband and I like is the Desert Botanical Gardens. We love to go at night and eat at their restaurant Gertrude’s, then walk the Garden. It is especially great when they have themed nights with cocktails and live music. It’s absolutely beautiful and we actually got engaged there!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely have to thank my husband Gary for his love and support! We met through music and he is the one who really gave me the confidence to really go for it, He once told me ” You can sing anything” and It was one of the nicest things anyone ever said to me about my singing. It meant so much to me coming from someone who was so talented himself. He also is so into “Dressing Stevie” ! He has gotten me so many great pieces to my wardrobe! I love it!
