We had the good fortune of connecting with Kylie Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kylie, how does your business help the community?
One of the main reasons I started making canna accessories is to help break the stigma around this amazing plant. My hope is my canna bags and accessories will spark conversation about cannabis, and give those of us who use cannabis a chance to educate others on its healing properties.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a self taught seamstress. I have always loved to create. One day I found beautiful cannabis fabric and thought that would be a beautiful purse. So I purchased it and bought a sewing machine. I taught myself how to self from YouTube and Pinterest. There was A LOT of trial and error. I even broke my first sewing machine because I had no idea what I was doing. It took me about a year to really get the hang of sewing. All my friends and family really liked what I was making and encouraged me to start selling my bags. My husband found a flyer for a local pop up event and encouraged me to try it. So I decided to give it a shot and turn this sewing hobby of mine into a full blown business. I’ve always been 100% all in on my business. One of my mottos in life is be all in or get all out. Being a creative entrepreneur is hard. There are a lot of long hours of trial and error, a lot of learning from mistakes, but as long as you don’t give up you can’t fail!!! Learn from your mistakes and be better the next go round. You can truly do anything you believe you can.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since we live on the east coast, I would definitely take them to get sea food at the casino near us. The restaurant is called Summer Shack. I also love a good IPA beer, so I would drive them up to Mass. to check out Tree House brewing company. Another spot I would have to visit with them is Ocean Beach Park. It’s a beautiful little beach. I was born and raised in Texas so I love BBQ, so while they were visiting I would defiantly ask my husband to smoke some meat for us on his Gator pit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dope women + weed in Tulsa Oklahoma. My first cannabis purse was purchased to be given away at an event they we holding. It truly helped me get my foot into an amazing cannabis community.
