We had the good fortune of connecting with Larry Pahl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Larry, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I sort of rebel against the idea that you choose a career path. Life lived fully must be some species of quest, like a hero’s journey. You need to find out who you are. You experiment, you learn, you step forward and retreat as you learn and grow. Eventually you learn your best talent sets, you find out what you are good at and what motivates you and you end up in a “career”, not because you chose it, but because you were called to it, you discovered it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The sages of ancient Egypt left many secrets hidden in their monuments and surveying lines. These revelations are overlooked by most scientific investigations. I have largely dedicated the research of my Institute to the recovery of these encryptions and encodings. This focus has proved fruitful, considering the number of discoveries we have made.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Egypt is a magical place. Besides the traditional tours I lead here, I have begun to craft specialized trips which are Indiana Jones type adventures. We have gone to the Lost Pyramid, the Mysterious Staircase, the Tomb of the Birds, the Layer Pyramid. Everyone feels this sense of adventure and mystery.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Adam Rutherford, author of the 4 Volume set entitled “Pyramidology”, was probably the one person more than any other who devoted his life to the study of the Great Pyramid. When he died, and his son died in a tragic car accident, there was no one to carry on the work of the Institute of Pyramidology, centered in Harpenden, England. They had a major publishing wing, sending out newsletters and periodicals worldwide. I decided to start a virtual institute to carry on this dedicated study of the pyramids, especially the Great Pyramid. The American Institute for Pyramid Research was founded to carry on this work.
