We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Hafez, MSN, APRN, FNP-c and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Opening my own clinic has been a dream of mine since a child. When my husband and I saw an opportunity to make the jump into Private Practice, we decided to go for it! I value my time with each patient and believe that newer models in medicine are taking away the personal relationship between Provider and patient. Having my own practice allows me to take my time with each interaction and create a relationship with each patient.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a new Primary Care Practice in Mesa, AZ. We pride ourselves on providing quality, compassionate, and holistic care. Each patient is treated as a family member where appointments are not rushed. We believe that the personal connection with patient and Provider has left most medical facilities and strive to integrate this within our patient panel.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depending on the time of the year you might find us camping, on one of the lakes close to Phoenix, in Flagstaff enjoying the snow, or absorbing the beauty of Sedona.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband has been my rock throughout this whole process. He has been there for me and supported me throughout school and the times I felt I might give up. He’s helped immensely with the business start-up, obtaining contracts, billing, and managing my team. Without him, this dream would never have become a reality. The rest of our family has been immensely helpful with watching our two children and we owe all of them much recognition!
