Meet LeeLee Robert | Singer, Songwriter, creator of Cowgirl Jazz

We had the good fortune of connecting with LeeLee Robert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LeeLee, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Have the “long game” in mind; ethics, healthy choices, relevance to your passion.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I trained and practiced performing many years in small venues and low risk situations before I advanced to bigger audiences and higher risk concert settings. I learned to talk to an audience like a friend. . No matter what anyone else’s attitude was, I tried to keep my attitude upbeat and professional. I never gave up and eventually a unique branding unfolded: Cowgirl Jazz. Cowgirl Jazz is a unique blending of the musical colors of jazz and blues with the lyric and story strengths of western music.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d take them to the Desert Botanical Gardens for Sunday Brunch and Jazz;I’d take them to the amazing Musical Instrument Museum for lunch and an afternoon; I’d take them to Hiro Sushi for dinner, I’d take a day trip to Sedona and maybe the Grand Canyon. I’d take them to The Nash to hear a jazz concert, Mailee’s Thai Bistro for happy hour, a walk in downtown Scottsdale to see galleries and particularly The King Gallery. I’d take them to a show at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts, or Mesa Performing Arts Center. I would cook them my famous meatloaf at my home and give them a private concert watching the sun go down over our beautiful Valley.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Father, Cavett Robert, was my greatest mentor in pursuing my dream to sing and perform. At the age of 55 he retired from a successful law practise and pursued his dream to become a professional speaker. Eventually he founded the National Speakers Association.
