We had the good fortune of connecting with Leo Despot and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leo, what do you attribute your success to?
I would like to say that most of my business opportunities have come through recommendations of current clients, previous clients, and/or referrals from within my network. To me, this is significantly important as I feel it has built trust and shows value in the work that I do. The consistency and the love of my work truly has been the success of my brand.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company focuses on a few different components; consulting, event planning, sales & marketing. What set’s me apart is that I professionally grew up in luxury hospitality which has helped me pave a road of providing services at a high level. Getting to where I am today was not simple and will forever be a continuous effort of reaching the next step, servicing the next client, shifting gears when needed. We often sit with so many thoughts, ideas, fears, what if’s and the worst of them all, genuinely being overwhelmed with so much to do, that you don’t know where to start but what is important is that you just start, wherever it may be.

I think the backbone of my company and my strength is building relationships with people, when I decided to go on this journey I really felt that who I work with and who works with me should be a good fit, there should be a connection and it’s important that we align.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The city has so much fun to offer! Let’s see, I would start by driving up north to Sedona for a hike & a view of the red rocks, one of my favorite hikes is the West Fork Trail. On the way back to the valley, I would stop at Page Springs Winery – they have a great lunch, beautiful views, and amazing local wine.

In town, I would grab some breakfast at The Canal Club, spend some time walking through OldTown Scottsdale, grab a cocktail at the Sanctuary resort while enjoying the views and then make our way to the best Thai in town Glai Baan!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to say that as I have gotten older, I have naturally surrounded myself with people who are hard working goal setters. From my parents to my small but mighty circle of friends and like minded people who work hard and go after their dreams. I constantly learn from them and would comfortably say continue to grow alongside them. In addition, a friend gifted me a book called “We should all be millionaires” by Rachel Rodgers where it talks about earning your wealth and one of the lines that stands out from it is ” I want you to have more money then you have ever had before, because when you have more money, you have more options” and I find that to be so true.
