We had the good fortune of connecting with Lexy Romano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lexy, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I have a ton of favorite quotes, but one of my all time favorites is, “If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving a new one,” from Dolly Parton. I think this speaks to the heart of an entrepreneur so well in that, if something- a job, way of life or situation- isn’t working for you, you have the power to change it. Ultimately I believe it speaks to us being in control of our choices and our life. How powerful!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
PHX Finds was truly born out of my love for discovering new things. After moving to Phoenix from New York City, I yearned for the city life of NYC. However, as I began to uncover the unique atmosphere of the valley of the sun, I realized how many amazing places there are right in our back yards! Due to Covid-19 my initial filming style of patronizing my “finds” in person had to change, and thus the 5-Minute Finds segment was born! With this new style I am able to interview business owners across the Valley via zoom, and introduce even more local businesses and people to the community. My mission of spotlighting the local community is truly only possible with the help of the community! People who have a love for local and want to #supportsmallbusinesses is what keeps me going and will keep Phoenix strong!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
There are so many to choose from but some of my favorites would include: 1. Breakfast at The JoyBus Diner! The biscuits are to die for and the mission of feeding home-bound cancer patients is one that I would encourage everyone to support! 2. Trying a Kava drink at the only kava bar in the whole state of Arizona, Lacuna Kava Bar! If you haven’t tried it yet, I encourage you to get down there and do it! Use code PhxFinds for 10% off a drink. 3. Lunch at Taqueria el Fundador… Seriously, this is the best traditional Mexican food in Phoenix. Don’t believe me? Try their shrimp quesadilla. 4. Something unique like a Hot Air Balloon ride with Hot Air Expeditions or flying on a trapeze with TrapeziusAZ while enjoying a view of Camelback mountain in the distance. It cannot be beat! 5. Grabbing a quick coffee at SongBird Coffee and Tea House in DTPHX. This coffee shop is in a converted historic home with cool art decking the walls and bird cages hanging everywhere. Not to be missed. 6. Dinner at Switch Restaurant- seriously they have bread and butter jalapeno-pickles! What better way to marry southern cooking with an Southwest vibe? 7. Finish up with a glass of wine at Genuwine Arizona in DTPHX. An awesome way to mix it up and have several different “tastes” of wine… Plus they have the best trivia in the city!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many people have been pivotal in my journey with PHX Finds! I have to thank some of the women who have been so warm and welcoming to me in this town, such as Melissa Anaya of Eat Drink AZ and Cynthia Sassi of Fabulous Arizona. Also, the support of small business owners throughout Phoenix who have welcomed me and helped me feel at home. But most importantly, my husband, Joshua Condon, who inspired me to start my show from the very get-go. Without him, I would never have had the courage to do what I am doing now.
