We had the good fortune of connecting with Lily Jade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lily, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Running my own business has been quite the rollercoaster ride! Throughout the years, I’ve encountered my fair share of both triumphs and setbacks, and I know there are more in store for me. Along this incredible journey, I’ve gleaned invaluable lessons, but if there’s one key insight I’d love to share, it’s this: the pursuit of perfection is a never-ending chase that can leave you feeling down in the dumps. The more we fixate on controlling every detail for a flawless outcome, the more frustrated and discontented we become. Let’s face it, life itself isn’t perfect—nothing is! So, striving for an unattainable ideal will only drive us bonkers. Instead, I’ve discovered that embracing progress over perfection wins the day. By focusing on continuous improvement and celebrating the small wins, we can find fulfillment and happiness along the way. Remember, the journey itself is what truly matters, and the imperfect moments often make for the best memories.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Handmade Soap Club, we pride ourselves on what sets us apart from others in the industry. What truly distinguishes us is our unwavering commitment to quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction. We pour our hearts into every aspect of our products, ensuring that each one is meticulously crafted and infused with love.

Getting to where we are today hasn’t been an easy journey, but it has been incredibly rewarding. We’ve faced numerous challenges along the way, from establishing a strong foothold in a competitive market to navigating the complexities of scaling our operations. However, we embrace these challenges as opportunities for growth. Through perseverance, strategic planning, and strong communication, we overcome obstacles, constantly learning and adapting.

The lessons we’ve learned are invaluable. We’ve discovered the power of resilience, the importance of listening to our customers, and the significance of embracing innovation. Building a successful business requires continuous learning, staying ahead of trends, and cultivating strong relationships with customers.

Our brand and story are fueled by passion and authenticity. We want the world to know that our products are crafted with care, using the finest ingredients and innovative techniques. We strive to create a memorable experience for our customers, not just through our products, but also through the values we uphold. Sustainability, ethical sourcing, and community engagement are at the core of everything we do.

In essence, we are not just a business, but a testament to the power of determination and the beauty of craftsmanship.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area for a week, I would ensure they have the best time ever with a carefully planned itinerary. Here’s how our exciting week would unfold:

Monday: We would start the day early to beat the heat and have a delicious breakfast at Matt’s Big Breakfast. Afterward, we would take a leisurely stroll down Roosevelt, exploring the vibrant shops and making a stop at the cat cafe. To unwind, we would head to Palma for some delightful happy hour drinks. For dinner, we’d indulge in a fantastic meal at Rough Rider. To end the night on a fun note, we would visit the unique and intriguing Killer Whale S*x Club.

Tuesday: Our morning would begin with a trip to Old Town, where we would enjoy mimosas and go shopping. On our way back, we might make a detour to the Berridge Nursery for some greenery and beautiful plants.

Wednesday: A day immersed in nature awaits us at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. We would explore the diverse plant life and enjoy a picnic amidst the serene surroundings.

Thursday: We would start by exploring the captivating Pueblo and Hawk Salvage in the Grand Ave area. For dinner, we would savor the flavors of Bacanora, indulging in a memorable dining experience.
To add laughter to our evening, we would attend Comedy Night at Wayward Taphouse.

Friday: We would take advantage of the perfect weather and head to Salt River for a thrilling day of tubing and enjoying the river’s refreshing waters.

To conclude the trip on a high note: On Saturday, we would take a leisurely walk around Uptown Farmer’s Market, discovering local produce, artisanal goods, and delectable treats. The day would be topped off with relaxation and fun at Lylo Swim Club, where we can soak up the sun, swim, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

With this itinerary, we would experience a diverse range of activities, from exploring local shops and cafes to immersing ourselves in nature and enjoying thrilling adventures. Each day would bring new and exciting experiences, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
