Meet Linda Parra | Dentist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Parra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Linda, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Becoming a parent has definitely changed what a balanced work life looks like for me. With my first child I was so anxious to jump back into work to prove (mostly to myself) that I could do it all but after I figured out that there’s not a prize or merit for spreading myself so thin. With my 2nd child I took for more off for myself and children. Balance is probably the hardest thing to figure out as a woman because it’a such a juggling act between marriage, motherhood, and work but what I found that helps the most is putting yourself first so that you can function at your personal optimal level. I’m no good to anyone, even myself if I’m not taking care of myself and doing the things that make me happy.
What should our readers know about your business?
I own Dr. Parra Implant Center and it’s an international dental practice that specializes in dental tourism. I’m 2nd generation dentist and this practice is over 40 years old. Inheriting a large established practice comes with its own set of obstacles because change I never easy but change is inevitable with the time. Practices need to stay currant to stay relevant and it comes with a cost and growing pains. Growing up in a dental practice I’ve learned that the most important thing we can offer our patient is compassion and care because most people do not enjoy their dental visits and we are committed to changing the dental stigma and phobia one patient and one treatment at a time.
