We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Lake and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

From an early age, my mentor, my father, introduced me to my first camera, an introduction that would shape my entire future. I consider myself fortunate to have discovered my passion for photography so young. Capturing images of my pets, family, and the beauty of nature filled me with joy. I was hooked and eager to advance my creative skills.

In addition to nurturing my love for photography, my father was a talented artist and entrepreneur. He initiated his own design studio from our humble home, which eventually flourished into a thriving Advertising Agency. It was under his guidance that I learned the values of dedication, commitment, and hard work. During summer breaks and holidays, he would bring me along to work, imparting invaluable lessons in client communication, conceptual design direction, proofreading, meeting deadlines, and managing finances. I even had the opportunity to partake in commercial product photo shoots using a 4 x 5 view camera.

Upon completing college, I returned to the Lehigh Valley to work alongside my father. Our collaboration further honed my skills in client interaction, artistic direction, and business growth. With such a deeply ingrained background in the family business, the idea of NOT venturing into entrepreneurship myself never crossed my mind. It felt like the most natural path forward, considering it was the only world I had truly known.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I possess a strong drive and excellent communication skills, which I leverage effectively in my work. Whenever I engage in a project, I make it a point to empathize with my clients, putting myself in their shoes to better understand their needs and desires. I believe that people are drawn to collaborate with me because of my genuine appreciation for them and my sincere interest in their endeavors.

My ultimate goal is to see my clients’ products and projects succeed, and I consider it my personal mission to contribute to that success. This sense of responsibility stems from the deep love and respect I have for my craft. Consequently, I always strive to give my absolute best, pouring my energy and dedication into every task. I am incredibly fortunate, grateful, and humbled by the trust placed in me by my clients, and it is my utmost priority to ensure their satisfaction and fulfillment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably take them to our shore house in New Jersey. There are lot’s of great restaurants, beaches and events. My top favorite place to eat is called Oyster Creek, you can get there by boat or car. It is so much fun to watch all the different boats stop in.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I would like to thank my father Joe Lake
