We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucia Luppino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lucia, how does your business help the community?
As a Medical Aesthetician in a Plastic & Reconstructive office we help change lives for the better. I help patients everyday feel good about themselves from the inside out. Through acne treatments for teens to anti aging treatments to post op lymphatic massaged. I want to make people love the skin they are in.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love what I do. I have been with the Plastic and Reconstructive surgery office for 12 years, Passionate about Aesthetics and coming from a health and wellness background of fitness instructor I have developed a passion for helping others love the skin they’re in. I graduated from Concordia College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and NY School of Esthetics, with a certification in Esthetics and Laser. I started at Northern Westchester hospital after collage as a concierge at 4am for pre surgical patients directing them where to go for their surgery. I then would go work at Papyrus the card store after that, and then at night I would teach spinning class 3 times a week. I also was a bereavement counselor for children who lost a loved one. I then got the job as the receptionist for the Plastic surgery office. That changed my life. I became interested in skin care and plastic surgery. I decided to go to school at night after work to learn this new trade.
In my career I was always looking to learn new things. I love to learn 3 new things every year to further my education to help my patients.
I get to make people feel good about themselves everyday. That makes me happy. By accommodating and customizing any skin type and regimen for all ages thats how I also help people struggling with their skin.
Through the years I got married and had 2 babies.
You can do anything if you try. Nothing is impossible. So many people told me I could not become an aesthetician that I should just stay answering phones all my life. But I knew there was something more out there.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would say I would start out by taking them for a facial by me. We would go my families Italian restaurant, shopping and for a nature walk or hike. I am pretty simple.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to thank Northern Westchester Hospital and the Plastic Surgeons that I work for. Dr. David A. Palaia and Dr. Michael H. Rosenberg of Northwell Plastic Surgery in Chappaqua NY. They gave me the chance to pursue my dreams to help people with their skin.
