Meet Lucie May | Performer, producer/choreographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucie May and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lucie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I have always done everything by the seat of my pants . I’ve never been afraid to take risks, if I hadn’t of risked everything I wouldn’t be where I am now . Surviving as a performer is a risk in itself . I don’t believe you can thrive in this career without 100 percent love and passion for what you do . It’s all or nothing

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think people shine when they find there true self and individuality and accept it . The best things in my career came from growing and trusting myself and knowing when to walk away and when to stand by. Been willing to compromise but never compromising myself or my visions . I have never been shy to end something and move on if I know it’s not right There has been countless rejection since I started out performing and auditioning . It was difficult to accept not been accepted at first I didn’t have the perfect hair teeth height or attitude. I also didn’t like fitting in a box or been told what to do which makes a terrible chorus girl. Since I came to America 7 years ago I have never felt so free to be me on and off stage and I think that’s when my career peaked as an artist and I made my name with my own ideas behind it and people listened. My brand is me and if people don’t like it they can look away. My shows and my songs are all about freedom and honesty. Being real with the audience and giving them the confidence to be themself and have fun in a judgment free zone
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in vegas may not be everyone’s but I’m happy where ever there is some live rock music , cheap beer and good energy. I love to ride out to the pioneer saloon just outside vegas . I love the mountains around and the beautiful weather
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family back in England most importantly my mum who put me through dance college and is always beside me even if 5000 miles away
