We had the good fortune of connecting with Madeleine Rheinheimer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madeleine, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since the fourth grade, my dream job was to be an author. I never really dreamed of anything besides having my work publicized and read by people who weren’t my immediate family and friends, and when I was 17 I published my first book. Upon doing so, I realized that a career within a creative field was the next step now that I had accomplished my one dream job before graduating high school.

Today, 8 years later, I find that choosing a creative career (outside of simply being a published author) has allowed for personal growth with the challenge of new projects, a new sense of creative expression through bringing abstract concepts to life, and a passion and fulfillment that I wouldn’t have felt in a traditional career. And that’s only within my personal work!

With digital marketing for my clients, using innovation and creative problem-solving to grow their brands is my north-star in every approach. Creative marketing includes winning over your audience and differentiating yourself from the competition, and I work every day to make sure my clients are achieving these goals. Having an artistic and creative background was the exact perfect combination to a successful career in digital media marketing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I began my marketing agency, Mimi Digital, earlier this year after a sudden change in career planning and I no longer found myself in the traditional corporate position I had jumped into immediately post-college. While simultaneously studying how to successfully run a business (and create a brand, a website, a business plan) I began outreach by word of mouth to friends, family, and frankly anyone who would listen.

Within the first week, I had my first client.

Within the first month, I had expanded to four clients.

Now, as I approach the conclusion of my first quarter, I look at the expansion of skillset and services myself and my team have developed and am hopeful for the upcoming year of growth and evolution within my company.

I want the world to know that even if one chapter of your career (or life) comes to an end, if you have the pen in your hand you have to begin writing your story in a new way – and nine out of ten times it has a happier ending than you ever imagined at the beginning of the book.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I adore my city! Originally hailing from the Midwest, Phoenix is a mixture of everything I dreamed of growing up – the people, the culture, the opportunities, the nature, the energy.

To start the day, Dialog has great coffee and the best local art. Next, on a day with nice weather, spending the afternoon on Canyon Lake would be ideal (with a to-go box of LoveBite, my favorite downtown dumpling spot) and wrapping up the evening with a show at the comedy club and dinner at Valentine/drinks at 1912 after.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Reading self-help books in my most formative years helped shape my “nothing is outside of my reach” narrative, and all doubt or hesitancy within my career was especially eliminated from one of my personal favorite self-help books, “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert.
