Meet Madelyn Dizon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Madelyn Dizon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madelyn, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always had a passion for storytelling, drawn to the way narratives can evoke emotion, inspire action, and shape perspectives. As I developed a love for social media, I recognized its unparalleled power to connect people and amplify voices. Marketing gives me the perfect space to merge creativity with strategy by transforming ideas into visually compelling content, engaging campaigns, and immersive brand experiences.
Creativity in marketing isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about problem-solving, innovation, and finding new ways to resonate with audiences. Whether it’s crafting a campaign that sparks conversation, designing visuals that capture attention, or writing copy that leaves a lasting impression, I thrive on the challenge of making a brand’s story come to life in a way that feels authentic and impactful. The dynamic nature of marketing constantly pushes me to think outside the box, adapt to new trends, and explore fresh ways to engage consumers. That ever-changing landscape fuels my creativity and inspires me to evolve as a marketer.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Building a career while still in college isn’t the traditional path, but for me, it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. Marketing has always been my passion, an industry that blends creativity, strategy, and innovation to build connections between brands and their audiences. From analyzing brand collaborations to dissecting PR moves, I’ve always been fascinated by the ‘why’ behind marketing decisions. That curiosity led me to KCMConnect, where I’ve had the opportunity to turn my passion into real-world experience while still in school.
At KCMConnect, I’ve immersed myself in the world of influencer marketing, social planning, and brand partnerships. Whether it’s crafting compelling brand messaging, developing content strategies, or curating marketing campaigns, my role has been dynamic and hands-on. What sets KCM apart is the level of responsibility and trust given to me as a student, this isn’t just an internship or a stepping stone; it’s a full-fledged role that has allowed me to gain firsthand industry experience while still pursuing my degree.
Of course, the journey hasn’t always been easy. Balancing full-time coursework with the demands of an evolving industry requires discipline, time management, and adaptability. There were moments of late-night work sessions, back-to-back deadlines, and the challenge of proving myself in an industry that often values experience over fresh perspectives. However, I’ve learned that persistence, networking, and a willingness to take initiative can open doors that once seemed out of reach.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned along the way is that opportunity favors those who are willing to show up, learn, and contribute. I want my story to inspire other students and young professionals who feel they need to wait until graduation to start their careers. The reality is, experience comes from doing, taking that first step, sending that email, pitching that idea.
Through KCMConnect, I’ve not only built my skill set but also contributed to a company that thrives on innovation and collaboration. Our work spans from hosting high-profile showrooms to executing strategic brand campaigns, and being part of that impact is something I’m incredibly proud of.
As I continue my journey in marketing, my goal is to bridge creativity and strategy in a way that drives real results. Whether it’s helping brands find their voice or crafting campaigns that resonate, I’m excited about what’s ahead.
For anyone looking to break into marketing, whether as a student or a career switcher, my advice is simple: start now. Get hands-on experience, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to carve your own path.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want to give them the ultimate experience, blending my favorite spots with some of the best things Los Angeles has to offer. We’d start the trip with a visit to Bristol Farms, one of my go-to spots for gourmet finds, fresh produce, and the kind of high-quality snacks that make any day better. From there, we’d spend a morning at The Farmers Market at The Grove, exploring the variety of food vendors, picking up some fresh fruit, and just taking in the lively energy of the space. It’s the perfect place to people-watch and indulge in different flavors before wandering over to The Grove itself for some shopping and an afternoon coffee break.
But no trip would be complete without plenty of time at the beach, my absolute favorite place to be. Whether it’s catching a sunset, walking along the shore, or just relaxing with good conversation, there’s nothing better than spending the day by the ocean. We’d explore different beach spots, from Malibu’s scenic coastline to the fun and vibrant energy of Venice. For food, my go-to recommendation would be Easy Street Burger, there’s nothing quite like their smash burgers, and it’s the kind of laid-back, delicious spot that’s perfect after a day of exploring. Throughout the week, I’d mix in some of the best local coffee shops, rooftop bars with great views, and a mix of hidden gems that make LA such a special place to experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a huge shoutout to KCMConnect, the place that took a chance on me and gave me the foundation to start my career. As a full-time college student, finding an opportunity that provides real, hands-on experience can be rare, but from day one, KCMConnect welcomed me in, gave me a seat at the table, and made me feel like part of the team, even as an intern.
What started as an internship quickly became an incredible learning experience, where I was able to dive into social media strategy, brand partnerships, event marketing, and PR execution in a way that most students only get to read about. I’ve been given the space to contribute, learn, and take ownership of projects that have challenged and shaped me, pushing me to grow both professionally and personally. Now, as a Social Media Manager, I’m beyond grateful for the trust, mentorship, and guidance I’ve received. This isn’t just a job, it’s the start of a career I’m passionate about, and I couldn’t have asked for a better launchpad.
And of course, none of this would have been possible without my incredible support system, my loved ones, who have always pushed me to be my best, to stay resilient, and most of all, never give up. Their unwavering belief in me has given me the confidence to chase my dreams, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Here’s to growth, gratitude, and the exciting journey ahead!
