We had the good fortune of connecting with Maggy Gioia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maggy, how do you think about risk?
In my opinion in order to live a fulfilling life .taking risks is essential. Risking made me realize how little I know about life.
It is thanks to taking risks that I became the person I am today .
Without risking I wouldn’t have lived my high school year in California or my senior year in Arizona. And I wouldn’t be able to attend college here in Phoenix.
Risking is essential especially when you want to travel around the world all by yourself meeting new people and facing new cultures and challenges .
It is thanks to taking risks that I decided to get into castings for tv shows and surprisingly get the role , it is thanks to risks that I left my Italian family to pursue something so unique and awesome.
I am thankful to my parents that always supported my decisions .
I am happy and thrilled to find out what the future is holding for me .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being an influencer and a student at the same time can be quite challenging . I always try to manage my time, by posting stories everyday at the same hour and try creating different types of contents .
I focus on self esteem, confidence and happiness.
Instagram is my favorite social media, on the app I post original, unique and funny moments in my life .
I want to share my adventures and my ideals with my big community .
I want to make sure that everyone is included, that they could find a place , a person where they could feel safe .
Along the way , I have learned that you cannot change people ideas about you .
Many people don’t like me because of my content or ideals , but I do not mind , because we are all different and unique .
I don’t attack people beliefs , because I believe that we should all respect each other in order to live a peaceful life.
I want to let people know that being yourself and standing out from a group is amazing and precious ,
Being yourself is the key to success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would personally take them to Downtown Phoenix, because you can find everything and as an Italian I really like being able to walk around. Downtown Phoenix has a huge variety of food from different countries . I usually eat at Ramen Kagawa because I love Japanese food and ramen is so filling and delicious.
I would get a milkshake or an ice cream at the yard , it is so good and sweet .
At night I would go to the valley bar and listen to a life band .
I would hangout at the Japanese friendship garden because the statues, structures and the ponds are all so beautiful and relaxing .
I would definitely go to Sedona and go on a pink jeep tour and then I would visit the Grand Canyon.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents are my biggest fans . My grandma is my biggest supporter .
My followers aren’t followers , they are part of my big family.
They all helped me achieving my goals.
