We had the good fortune of connecting with Malaun Rice and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Malaun, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?

My favorite quote is mine actually. I always say, “On the other side of pain and trauma…is beautiful!” When you are in the thick of pain you can’t see anything but the darkness, you don’t see the other side. Once you make the decision that enough is enough and start the healing process, your perspective changes immediately. That is what happened to me! I started to heal and learned I have been taught wrong in some instances. I felt more free than I ever have before!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

My official title is a Transformational Life Coach and Speaker. I just go by the mindset coach now because it is easier for folks to grasp. I started this business because I wanted to help those who are survivors of sex crimes because I am a sexual assault survivor. The more I discovered about me, the more I had to offer. I realized that I had to take people (rather you have been sexually assaulted or not) through the healing journey by assisting them with correcting their mindset. What makes me different from others is I really want to see my clients win! I mean I am smiling now thinking about it. Don’t get me wrong I am not the only one out here that wants to see others thrive, I am that person who literally cries when someone obtains a goal. I also train and present within Corporate America. I teach workshops on mindset and leadership to help with productivity and to empower.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am guilty of not exploring Arizona in its full capacity. So of course all of the tourist spots like the Grand Canyon, Sedona and any of the waterfalls will come highly recommended. Arizona’s brunch spots are top tier! I would recommend Sugar Jam, The Brunch House and Hash Kitchen. For dining, I would say Z’teja’s in Chandler (I love the manager there!), Toca Madera, Paul Martin’s for Butter Cake and Postino’s for charcuterie boards and wine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Wow!! There are so many people who have been on this journey with me. I would like to thank GOD!! He is first in my life and gives me the fuel to withstand all I have. I also would say some of my success comes from people who meant harm. THANK YOU! You have gotten me this far! All the hurt and drama that I allowed to be inserted into my life by people who did not have the capacity to love me or celebrate me. All lessons!!

The VIP’s are my family and friends, my community of business owners, my life coaches and therapist. They have ALL assisted me in working on getting to the best version of myself. They have seen my tears, my dedication and sacrifice. Survived my wavering moods, supported my events, bought my products, shared a post etc. LOVE THEM! They have wiped my tears, fed into my love language and bought me wine! LOL!

Then it is the teachings of Wayne Dyer and affirmations of Louise Hay. May they continue to rest in peace! Living, I will say Abraham Hicks and Dr. Michael Beckwith are my indirect mentors. I listen to alot of their teachings, it has gotten me through some dark and difficult times.
